The Northern Commercial Company was one of the early trading companies in the region, supplying the necessary goods and services to settlers and traders. The Company served the voracious appetite demanded by the Alaska gold rush by providing clothing, and equipment. The Company later fueled the military efforts in Alaska through the provision of Caterpillar® heavy machinery and engines.
